SHANE'S TRAINING – Week of June 16, 2025
I bruised my butt. As silly as that sounds, it makes lifting kind of hard and has been a mental blow. I went a little off script last week and worked up to a heavy snatch single, which I missed, but barely, and tweaked my shoulder. When I went back to lift this week, the shoulder was very noticeable and, once I got up to 187, it hurt and I dumped the bar. In the process of doing that, I fell back and my right side butt landed right on the cross bar of the squat rack I was lifting in front of.
The combination of my existing quad tendonitis, my shoulder being a bit tweaked and, now, my butt being bruised, has been quite a blow to my psyche. I’m not sure what I can and can’t do at this point, but I do think that I will take time off the classic lifts for this week and the next, since I will be on vacation anyway. That means I’m not totally sure what I will be doing this week other than a lot of bodybuilding type work that avoids exacerbating any of the body issues I am currently experiencing.
