SHANE'S TRAINING – Week of February 10, 2025
You will see a pretty big change to the training schedule this week. I decided after last week, though it was overall much better than previous weeks, that I am not in the right place to follow the training plan that I was. For whatever reason, it just wasn’t fitting correctly. At least for now. Instead, I’ve shifted to a little bit more of the style of programming I did when I was running the Bob Takano program. Very Russian. I think that I need the extra work at the lower intensity ranges at the beginning of the movement to groove/warm up a bit more than I was previously. I don’t know why this has changed, but it has, so there is no use trying to force myself to do a program that won’t yield benefits.
I am going to keep the faster pace of work that I was previously doing. I think there is a lot of benefit to that. I’m not sure if 40 minutes is reasonable each day, but I am going to try pretty hard to keep it under 50 minutes if I can. I do intend to shift back at some point, maybe in 8 or so weeks, so keeping my conditioning up will be important.
