THE FUTURE OF FITNESS: FLEXIBLE, PORTABLE, AND INCLUSIVE

A Visit with Kheaton & Assad for a Beach Workout

(Plus, an Express 5-Minute Workout by Assad)

In an age where flexibility and adaptability are paramount, the fitness industry is undergoing a transformation. Traditional gym environments are no longer the sole sanctuaries for achieving physical wellness. People are increasingly turning to alternative, more dynamic workout settings. Today, we join Assad and Kheaton at Santa Monica Beach, who discuss their outlook on the current state of fitness. They highlight the freedom and benefits of exercising outdoors and inspire others to embrace the trend.

Assad is a personal trainer, model, and actor who leads an active lifestyle exercising outdoors. His workouts combine strength training with activities like boxing, sprints, and rowing, to stay agile and constantly improving. His Florida background, where he trained in sand, carried over to his current practice of training on beaches and in parks across California.

Kheaton, a fitness enthusiast in Los Angeles, promotes fun and accessible outdoor workouts, using the city's scenic spots to break away from traditional gyms. Keen to share his passion, Kheaton has been strongly promoting the trend of outdoor exercise since it has gained momentum post-pandemic.

Versatility and Portability in Workouts

Together, Kheaton & Assad highlight a future of fitness that’s flexible, portable, and inclusive. As schools and communities face limited facilities, mobile gym setups offer a practical solution for physical education and fitness. The growing trend of outdoor workouts in places like beaches and parking lots makes fitness more accessible and keeps routines fresh and engaging for everyone.

Assad: So, you know, coming here to California, it's the same mentality where I love training outside here, on the beach, at a park, obviously back at the gym sometimes. But, you know, we're blessed to have this opportunity to work out in such a nice, beautiful setting, so we might as well use it.

Back to Basics with Fundamental Tools

Having strength trained for about 15 years, Assad appreciates variety but finds himself going back to basics in his routines. Despite working in the entertainment industry, he remains grounded in fundamental exercises learned from his football and boxing background. With the Verse Agile Rack on hand, both athletes demonstrate how it supports these basic yet effective training methods, particularly with it being easily portable and simple to set up almost anywhere.

Kheaton: I've had this [Agile Rack] for, like, six months now. And the coolest thing for me, actually working in schools; I have brought this to my school and started a workout club. Oh, and this is, like, the main attraction. Every time I set it up, they're like, ‘Where did this come from?’ Being able to just set up a gym on our outside patio, my agile rack, my tire, my dumbbells and little bells have basically a full-on gym.
