Apparently I have some kind of Voodoo curse on me since I just can’t seem to catch a break. My plan for last week, as unambitious as it was, didn’t even come close to happening. The best full workout I actually managed to complete without misses, within the timeframe, and not nearly dying was, was with the weight that I started this whole training program with. A full 25 pounds under what I was regularly using before leaving for Christmas, New Year, and getting sick. That workout was on Friday the 24th and the weird dry cough that I had been harboring all that week turned into a full on flu. Or some kind of respiratory thing. 

Three (more) days of high fevers, not eating enough, body aches. The whole shebang. Having not even fully recovered from the first illness, this feels like such a setback. I’m trying to keep a positive outlook and keep telling myself that this won’t mean a lot in the long term of this situation, which is 2-5 years. I still find it infuriating and am struggling to remain reasonable about it. 

My hope this week is that I can get my body moving by Wednesday into some kind of workout that involves snatches and cleans. I’m not even planning on anything heavy. Hopefully, if things continue in a positive direction, by Saturday, I can repeat the same workout I did last Friday and not get sick yet again.
