SHANE'S TRAINING – Week of January 13, 2025
Last week was an absolute disaster. Dear old Robert Burns is laughing at me somewhere I can tell you. I only managed to get through 2 days of the planned training before I got sick with a terrible fever that lasted from Tuesday night fully to Sunday, with a little resurgence Monday (this week!) night. Hand in hand with that with a complete drop off of my eating. There were two days where I’d be surprised if I ate 500 calories.
Onward and upward. I have nothing specific planned for this week, other than the goal being that I am fully back to normal training by Friday and Saturday. Monday was, frankly, embarrassing with how tight and tired I was. I missed snatch reps with a broomstick! How does that even work? Hopefully, now that I’m on the mend and getting back to eating, albeit not 4500 calories, I can ease my way back to normal by the end of the week.
In some ways it’s perfect timing. My wife is out of town for work this week, which means I am doing the morning routine and school drop off with my daughter. On the bright side, I don’t have to wake up at 4am, however that means my morning training time slot is gone. I have some time during the day to train, but between clients and Verse, there isn’t a lot of open time. At least this week I won’t feel as bad about shorter workouts.
