START THE NEW YEAR RIGHT

START THE NEW YEAR RIGHT

By Shane Robert

As I write this, the new year is a mere two days away. Despite my general disdain for treating the new year as some kind of new start, most parts of your life don’t change at all, even if you want them to. However, it does represent a defining line that can make measuring progress a little tidier. It seems, also, that I am quite alone in this belief. The average American makes some kind of ‘resolution’ at the new year. The two most popular categories of these resolutions are financial. Most Americans want to save more and spend less. The second is fitness-related —something generic like 'exercise more’ is often the top yearly goal.

To ensure that you can be successful in any exercise endeavors you may partake in, peruse some previous blog entries for any number of topics that you might be interested in. Specifically, for anyone who is somewhat new to training, consider reading the following blogs first:

Health & Fitness Fundamentals

Goal Setting: Use what’s called the SMART criteria - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time Bound.

The 3 things you need for success in training: As long as you follow these, you will make progress.

A Good Training Program: There are many good programs out there. I have written many programs for this blog. This one is a pretty good option (as are the two follow-up posts: Part 2 and Part 3).

Nutrition Planning: It’s Simple Mathematics

In the meantime, you can peruse the Verse products and buy the equipment you need. There might even be a limited time sale!!
