A FAMILY FITNESS STORY: Strong Saturday Spotlight

At our recent Strong Saturday event on the Santa Monica beach boardwalk, the spirit of community, fitness, and fun was in full swing. Passersby were drawn to the energy as participants took on the Dead Hang Competition, testing their grip strength and endurance on the Verse Agile Rack. But one family stood out among the rest—not just for their performance, but for the inspiration they brought to the event.

Meet the Heimans: a powerhouse family where fitness isn’t just a habit—it’s a lifestyle. Led by matriarch Angel Heiman, a former gymnast and cheer gym owner, and her husband, a former football player, the family embodies the motto “a family that exercises together, stays together.” Even during the pandemic, the Heimans transformed their home into a full-blown gym, showing that commitment to health doesn’t have to pause, even when the world does.

At the event, two of the Heiman kids stepped up to the challenge—but with a twist. Rather than simply hanging from the bar, they performed the L-sit variation, using their core strength to hold their legs out straight. It was a bold move that turned heads and raised the level of competition.

Eight-year-old Kynlee Heiman took it even further. A child actor and known on social media as @kynlee_the_great, Kynlee held her L-sit for a jaw-dropping 1 minute and 30 seconds, outlasting over 20 adults. Her brother narrowly beat her with a 1-minute and 51-second hold, proving just how fierce sibling rivalries can be—in the best way.

But Kynlee’s strength goes beyond a beachside competition. A dedicated gymnast since the age of three (Watch Reel), she trains up to six hours a day, three times a week, and also balances acting and modeling. Her impressive six-pack abs have become something of a signature, drawing attention from fans and media alike. Now, she’s about to share her talent with the nation on America’s Got Talent. Catch her when Season 20 premieres May 28!

The Heimans’ presence at Strong Saturday was more than just a highlight—it was a reminder of what’s possible when families move together, support each other, and lean into challenges as a team. The Verse Agile Rack, which they tried during the event, reflects that same philosophy: adaptable, versatile, and perfect for both solo workouts and family training sessions, whether at home or outdoors (like we did at the beach). A home gym setup gives families a unique opportunity to train together.
